VALUES WHICH CHARACTERISE THE FOUNDATION
The Foundation is based upon a set of values with impregnate the relationships among its members and characterise its objectives and actions as an organisation.
- SOLIDARITY
This is a value that we define as covering two different domains: With the communities and with the people with whom we cooperate. We deem necessary to create a fairer world which respects people's dignity as well as their right to have their basic needs covered. - ORGANISATION OF VOLUNTEERS
The Foundation has the goal of opening up new ways and new manners for encounters so that the citizens from Gipuzkoa may denounce, put pressure on, propose and collaborate with alternatives for the improvement of the social injustice situations lived in Wukro, and by extension in the region of Tigray. - COMMITMENT
We consider this is a fundamental value to manage the relationships between the Foundation and the members which make it up. This commitment is developed in two different ways:
- Active participation. It is essential that the members of the entity embrace it as their own, and to this end we shall act with transparent mechanisms and participative ones when setting objectives and in the decision taking.
- Assuming the objectives of the Foundation. Once the objectives have been agreed upon by all of the members in a participative manner and with a consensus, it is understood that all the members shall have to assume the objectives of the organization as their own.
- PROFESIONALITY
We develop this value in four different ways:
Knowledge is the beginning of any process of analysis or of any proposal for intervention. It is essential a multidisciplinary approach to the reality of the community and of the people in Wukro, and by extension of the region of Tigray.
Transparency in the running of the Foundation. In the first place, the Foundation has to be transparent in its policy, budgets and actions, so that there is publication of the quantitative and qualitative documentation, and making available the external control of the activities developed and the resources used to this end. Furthermore, we define this point as the transparency and as the participation of all of its members when nominating posts.
Guidance to effectiveness and to efficiency. All of the economic, human and material resources of the entity have to be addressed to attain the objectives deemed as having priority in the organisation, and meeting them with the least possible resources.
Human and professional development of the people making up the Foundation. The people, their technical and management competences and their responsibility make up a basic factor for the attainment of the objectives of the Foundation.
Personal honesty. - INDEPENDENCE
The Foundation has institutional and decision making independence regarding any government, intergovernmental or any other authority alien to the institution, so that it does not depend upon any political group, nor any economic ones, or any religious denomination.
In this sense, it shall also try to provide services to the focus groups object of the collaboration under the same conditions, making no distinction as to religion, sex, ethnos nor political background.
